About The Homes

The greatest feature of this duo are the many and varied rear decks on both houses offering incredible views of the Bass River Marina and Horsefoot Cove, as well as natural wildlife in the seagrass. The exquisite nature and water views from both these homes are phenomenal. Tidal creeks and inlets create a haven in the seagrass for observing amazing riverfront wildlife such as great blue herons, osprey, white egrets, sandpipers, geese, and ducks. You will hear birds singing and owls hooting. And no day is the same, as this breathtaking scene is ever changing with the tides, creating this abundance of wildlife interest on Bass River. 

The back of both homes and their decks are facing west with little to almost no obstructions to the view. Sit back and relax on any of the expansive rear decks and enjoy many varied ★spectacular sunsets★ over salt marsh while observing this amazing riverfront wildlife. Watch boats come and go at the Bass River Marina. The stunning sunrises and sunsets at this salt marsh never look the same way twice, making you feel like you are part of a different nature painting every day.

The spacious backyards are beautifully landscaped, with room to run around either yard and play games. About Seagrass Haven

Much of “Seagrass Haven” allows you to indulge in amazing views from most rooms: the large kitchen, dining room, adjoining living room and bedrooms all boast water views! The living space is open concept and is light, bright, roomy and comfortable. 

There are 3 bedrooms - all with sweeping water views. The bedrooms are called the Egret Sanctuary (2 Queens), the Osprey Nest (2 Extra long twin beds- with king converter kit and a private balcony) and the Owls’ Nest (twin bunk bed and twin trundle).

There are 2 full baths and 1 half bath (toilet in closet, sink outside in bedroom), and laundry on the first floor. And the must-have oversized outdoor shower is available to rinse off after a day at the beach.

About Sunset Retreat

“Sunset Retreat” is a ranch-style home directly next door to “Seagrass Haven” with a lower level and walk-out basement. The interior of the home enjoys plenty of natural light. 

You will find a cozy and comfortable living room with ample seating to relax and enjoy a good movie. The living room offers sliders to the deck and views to enjoy. The kitchen has plenty of counter space for meal prep. The laundry is conveniently located in the kitchen. The dining room adjoins the kitchen and living room, and has a large table that seats 6-8 people. An additional table is available for puzzles or to play games. 

The primary bedroom with a King-size bed is on the main floor and has sliders to the deck with more views. There is another bedroom on the main floor with 2 Twin beds. There are 2 full baths and laundry on the first floor. Be sure to grab morning coffee on the upper deck and watch the sunrise.

There are two rooms on the lower level, one with a Queen-size bed and desk, and another room with 2 Twin beds and a loveseat. An outdoor shower is just steps from these rooms on the lower level. There is also a patio table outside on this level for grabbing coffee in the morning and enjoying the views.

What’s Nearby

The Bass River Marina nearby has a nature boardwalk along the waterfront with access to 2 restaurants: Summer Shanty and Sundancer’s. Grab an early dinner or cocktails and then walk home to watch the sunset. There are plenty more fantastic eateries, coffee shops, bakeries, ice cream shops and boutiques nearby accessible by car.

Bring your kayak or canoe, or rent one nearby and launch it at the dock down the street from the home. Bring your bikes and explore the best rated bike trails and walking trails in West Dennis, with easy access to the Cape Cod Rail Trail that stretches from South Yarmouth to Wellfleet. Bike rentals are also available nearby.

The Cultural Center of Cape Cod is located within one mile. It offers events that support Visual Arts, Music, Culinary Arts and seasonal activities. There is a Farmers’ Market every week during the summer.

Other attractions nearby include: the Whydah Pirate Museum, the Bass River Lighthouse, the Jericho House and Barn Museum, mini-golf, Cape Cod Inflatable Park, and more!

For Beach Lovers

If you’re a beach lover, West Dennis beach is close by - a mere 4 minute drive from the property. It is a mile long, beautiful, sandy, ocean beach on Nantucket Sound, where the waves smoothly and calmly hit the shore and the gulls soar overhead and the salt air tantalizes your senses. You will collect plenty of seashells here. It has plenty to do for the whole family: there's a playground, snack bar, and kite flying area, showers and many lifeguard stations, along with a large parking lot.

South Village Beach is another fantastic nearby beach option and is a little under 2 miles from “All Decked Out on Horsefoot Cove”. It is a beautiful beach with clear refreshing water,  minimal seaweed and an abundance of shells to collect. It is also ideal for those that just love to play on the beach as the sand is very soft. The beach is large with plenty of room to spread out. The sandbar is nice and one can enjoy riding the tidal waves. South Village Beach is at the mouth of the Swan Pond River with a great current that flows at low tide, which allows for a lazy river ride. Be advised that there is no snack bar or permanent bathroom/changing facilities.

However, if you prefer the pristine sand of the Dennis beaches on the Northside on the Cape Cod Bay, they are also easily accessible by car: Chapin Beach, Corporation Beach, Mayflower Beach should not be missed.

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $250.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 60 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges (less $250.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 30 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
