Serene, Tranquil Setting

If you love the “feel” of a traditional Cape Cod vacation, then this exceptional property offers just that and more. Providing a mesmerizing setting with acres of natural beauty bordering Sesuit Neck’s salt meadow with magnificent marsh views, The Pearl at Sesuit Neck takes you a step back in time, but with all the amenities of today! This is a true getaway location: with a serene, tranquil setting where you can relax, and get into vacation mode. Featuring an inground pool, you don’t ever have to leave this peaceful location if a staycation is what you seek.

Spend Your Days Outdoors

If you wish to get out and explore, all the main attractions of the Cape are a short drive away. Or spend a day sunbathing and walking the shore at one of several of the best beaches in Dennis on the bay side of the Cape. If you wish to stay close and connect with nature, this neighborhood invites bike riding, long walks, and leisurely strolls, and also accesses open space conservation trails that will take you on a pleasant walk bordering Quivet Marsh at its headwaters for bird watching and more.

Autumn on Cape Cod

Come explore Cape Cod’s second summer and enjoy beautiful cooler weather with milder temps – but without the crowds.  Cape Cod’s shoulder season should not be missed, with its endless shimmering ocean views contrasting against the season’s vibrant rich fall foliage and vermillion-saturated cranberry bogs. Escape the long lines and enjoy the Cape’s outdoor activities, along with some solitude. From a fresh lobster dinner to succulent oysters, enjoy dining al fresco on outdoor decks and patios well into the season. There is nothing quite like a beach day in autumn, where the beaches are less crowded and the ocean temps remain warm into September. As fall progresses with cooler days, bundle up for a refreshing walk along the seashore. Spend afternoons kayaking, canoeing or paddle-boarding our waters, chartering a fishing boat and engaging in some recreational fishing, going on a whale watch excursion, hiking nature trails or sailing off into some of the most beautiful sunsets you have ever seen. Some of the locals consider this the best time of year on the Cape! For ideas of more things to do in fall on Cape Cod, click here.

About the History

This is a historical home with the desired combination of charm, character, and history that creates what is known as the “Cape Cod Feel”. Formerly home in the 1800's to the Shiverick Shipyard, where Clipper Ships were once built, this area played an important role in the sea captain era. Steeped in history, the neighborhood called “Sesuit Neck” is designated as a Historic District preserving Dennis’ agricultural lands and heritage and is centrally located on the bay side of the Cape by Cape Cod Bay to the North, Sesuit Harbor to the East, and Sesuit Creek to the South.

About the Estate

There are two sides to this historical beauty: one is the historical Port Side of the house (right side), and the other side, built more recently, is what we refer to as the Starboard Side of the house (left side). Although they are attached, they have separate entrances and living quarters.

This listing is for the Portside only (Right Side). The Portside of the Pearl has 4 bedrooms (Master bedroom with King-sized bed, 1 bedroom with 1 Full-sized bed and 1 Twin bed, 1 bedroom with 2 Twin beds and  1 bedroom with Twin bed on the first floor), and 2.5 bathrooms, a cozy living room with fireplace, a TV room, large indoor dining area that seats 12, and a large kitchen.

The inground swimming pool is available mid May through October and is shared. However, both sides of the home have their own fire pits, outdoor dining area and laundry facilities. The gas grill is shared by both sides of the home.

Want to rent the whole house?  Please see the listing titled “The Pearl at Sesuit Neck” for available dates. Also ask about the use of the Separate Office Outbuilding designed specifically for those who need privacy to do some work on vacation for an additional cost.

For Beach Lovers

Dennis has many of the best beaches the Cape has to offer, along with some of the most spectacular sunsets on the Cape, powdered sand, views of Cape Cod’s tip at Provincetown, and miles of bayside horizon. Nearby public beaches include: Corporation, Chapin Memorial, Mayflower, Howes, and Scargo beach. At low tide on Mayflower Beach, you can walk for miles on the tidal flats, making it both a prime spot for photographers and sunset-chasers alike. The tidal flats form pools to explore and provide extra space for a few hours.

What’s Nearby

Walk over to Marshside Restaurant for dinner and cocktails with fantastic views overlooking scenic Sesuit Creek. Famous Sesuit Harbor Cafe is a popular spot for picnic dining outside with your favorite seafood plate, where you can watch boats come and go from the Northside Marina at Sesuit Harbor, the largest on Cape Cod Bay.

Two miles down the road on the Old Kings Highway, (Route 6A), is the quaint Village of Dennis for shopping, dining, museums, coffee shops and bakery, local ice cream spots, antique stores, gift shop boutiques and more. The Cape Playhouse in Dennis, one of the best-known summer-stock theaters in the eastern United States, is an historic favorite as well. Also residing on the Cape Cod Center for the Arts is the Cape Cod Museum of Art. The Museum preserves the work of the Cape’s finest artists and celebrates the distinctive artistic identity of the Cape, the Islands and the region. Their art collection is outstanding and they offer diverse programming including a Summer Youth Program with art classes by the day in the summer months.
